Drakes Wellness Checkup

Drake had his 5 month checkup. He is a healthy boy ( besides his lumpy noggin). He weighs 14.6lbs and in the 14th percentile for his weight and 27 inches and in the 68th percentile for his height. Tall and skinny!

He has an appt with the neurosurgeon in August to see if he has craniosynostosis . His peditrician says in  his non-expert opinion he doesn't think he has it, as his soft spot hasn't closed yet. So that's comforting!

Drakes Noggin

We had our Dr. appt today about Drake's cranial helmet. He will definitely be receiving one in the near future but first we will be going  to see a neurologist because the Dr. thinks Drake may have Craniosynostosis, a premature fusion of the sutures in the skull.  A CT scan will clarify this for sure. If he has Craniosynostosis surgery may be recommended to allow normal growth to occur. After surgery he would be fit with the helmet  to improve the shape of his head. 

We will let everyone know how the neurologist appt. goes....
